Worst Timing Ever

File under new things I have learned about this week, I have suffered from a subconjunctival hemorrhage in my right eye. In layman's terms a small blood vessel in my eye burst yesterday causing a "bruise" in my eye. This equates to a nice bright red spot that has lessened a little in color since it happened yesterday but has gotten bigger. Apparently these can take a week to two weeks to completely heal. It is causing me no discomfort but it's a bit unsightly and I hate feeling like I'm being stared at. It's not as noticeable as I seem to think it is, at least according to my wonderful coworkers. Anyway we have an appointment on Saturday to have a family portrait taken before my brother and SIL leave next week. I hope it either looks much better by then or they are able to touch up the photos for us. Argh! My stupid ego is really letting this get to me when it is not a big deal at all. To save grossing everyone out I will decline from posting photos but if the topic interests you there's a Wikipedia page on the subject. I suppose I can find comfort in the fact that my eye doesn't look even half as bad as the first photo in that entry. People might start mistaking me for a zombie...
