Uncork'd Art

Dublin never looked so good! Yesterday, thanks to a Living Social deal that sparked Jake's attention, we attended a Just for Fun painting class at the Washington Design Center offered by Uncork'd Art. We got a glass of wine each, a dessert and all the supplies and help needed to paint a portrait of our pup. It was a lot more fun than I anticipated and exceeded my, not low, but skeptical expectations. I would do it again if another buy one get one offer appeared. Most of the classes are geared towards painting a copy of an existing piece of work. I liked the idea of paint your pet because it would afford us a more original piece of work. In the above photo (sorry for the quality) Jake's is on the right and mine is on the left. Painting a black dog is tough but I think we both did well.

I had never been in the Washington Design Center building before, and I am unsure of what else happens there, but it was pretty cool. Lots of displays of interior design work grace the lobby and I assume they do a combination of teaching and business there. I want to go back just to check more of that out so I will have to research it.

This was my highlight in what was a somewhat mentally exhausting weekend of my own doing. I'm actually glad to be back and work. Chatting with my coworkers has definitely improved my mood.
