And Whoops

On Sunday morning we headed over to our friends' house with the boys for soccer-watching. I was carrying Evan back down from the second floor after changing his diaper and I slipped on the hardwood and crashed down the last 4 steps or so. Evan was fine, thankfully. I have some nice bruises, the worst of which is in a place that no one can see it. Socks and hardwood floors are not a good mix and I think I will plan on leaving my shoes on at their house from now on, yikes.

The thing that sucks about getting older is that it is harder to recover from such things. On Monday morning I woke up with a lot of general soreness as a result of the impact. My neck, in particular, hurt and I had to take some ibuprofen, which helped. Yesterday morning I was pretty much okay with the exception of the pain at the bruising sites, but it stinks to think that in years to come, unfortunate incidences like that become more and more costly. I used to always be okay with the idea of getting old. Now I am not so sure.
