I follow a couple of clothing related feeds on Instagram and this morning saw a photo of a lovely, colorful pile of cardigans. I do love me a nice cardigan. What don't I love? Wool. Well, pretty much any non-synthetic fiber aside from cotton and silk. Cashmere, merino, whatever they are calling rabbit hair these days, all make me itch like crazy. I can only really tolerate it if I wear something long sleeved underneath so as to keep the wool from actually touching any of my skin. This is a recipe for over-heating even in winter.
I like wine. I like wine a lot and I can certainly pick out a bad wine if I am given one, but I'll be honest. My pallet isn't really refined enough to make drinking a $100 or even a $50 bottle worthwhile. I also have a hard time determining the best time to enjoy such an investment since it is fleeting. We have a bottle of red hidden in our stash that we bought at a wine tasting that I believe did cost us upwards of $50. It was good. Very good. I remember that from the tasting, but we still haven't decided when an appropriate time to crack into is. I am hoping when we do, we think it is worthwhile and worth the price. I think I more appreciate the wines we have collected during our travels. The Italian prosecco from Venice that we shared with friends on NYE a few years ago was not terribly expensive but still delicious and it reminded us of our trips there. I look forward to enjoying the last one of those.
Caviar? Ew, yuck. No thanks. Same with snails and frog legs. I did enjoy some cuttlefish and ink sauce in Italy though. I will own up to that but over there it isn't that expensive.
Finally I want to talk about steak. I am not really big on red meat in general. I attempt to sub it out in most instances, if possible. We have found that we enjoy the flavor of ground chicken more in our tacos even. Do I enjoy the occasional steak? Yes. Does it have to be a teeny, tiny piece of Japanese imported beef that costs more than my purse? No. I just need it to be tender and cooked appropriately.
Okay I think I have effectively procrastinated starting real work on this Monday morning long enough. Time to go look at some Louboutin shoes that I will never own, because hey, when it comes to shoes, I have no aversions.
