These are repeat photos from Instagram so my apologies to anyone who has seen them already. I just wanted to touch a little on a few of the things we have going on around the house.
I decided not to reinstall the mirror on my dresser and instead ordered some jewelry hangers from Etsy for all of my necklaces. I have a Baublebar fetish it seems. Jake helped me line these up and when he saw there were still empty hooks his response was uh-oh, room for more, ha ha!
In the nursery Jake has been hanging some molding as chair rail. It has a small ledge on top if I want to display anything up there. The light makes the color hard to see but the room is no longer turquoise, it is Benjamine Moore's deep silver, a medium-to-dark gray with slight blue undertones. The curtains are tossed up out of the way for the time being but they are some nice room darkening panels from Amazon in a red that offset the gray quite nicely.
In Declan's room his name has been added to the striped wall. We got his twin mattress and started him sleeping in it this week after a week in the crib with the toddler rail. So far, so good, he has been staying in bed pretty well. Once we move the crib out we will turn the bed with the long side against the striped wall instead and eventually a real bed frame will be added. For now though we figured at least he wouldn't have far to fall if he rolled out.
To the right of our front door we are creating an entryway space. I want to hang some more on that wall but I am not sure what yet. I will probably also get a mat for shoes. We don't use the front door that much but I still wanted that area to be inviting. Our coat closet actually faces this entryway space but we need to replace the doors on it since, like in the nursery, they are the original metal doors and have seen better days.
This plus various yard work tasks has been what has been keeping us busy these days. Well these projects and keeping up with Declan. I swear I have no idea where all of his energy comes from but I wish I could have some of it!
