It's a Jungle

The piles of boxes are really starting to take over at home yet there seems to be so much more to do. Jake and I are going to be working our butts off this weekend in hopes of having the condo ready to be listed next week. I'm not sure if we'll reach that goal or not but hopefully we can. The longer the condo is active on the market, the longer we live without the majority of our furniture.

Speaking of, Jake's parents are coming the second weekend in November to celebrate Declan's birthday with us. I had said from the start that I wasn't going to plan a big party for his first birthday and thank goodness because I doubt we would be ready to host anyone. The plan was just to celebrate with family so I am glad that they are coming into visit us even if we don't have a bed for them to sleep on. I suppose it is possible the condo could be under contract at that point and then we could have our furniture moved, we'll see. I think Jake and I will let them sleep on our spare mattress and we can sleep on the blow up for the days they are here.

And I can't believe my little man is almost a year old! This year has absolutely flown by! He is so amazing and, of course, now at the age where he can start to test his limits. So the fun begins. His two current obsessions seem to be putting his hands in the dog's water bowl and dropping his food on the floor during meals. I suspect the words, "Declan, no." are going to pass over my lips many, many, many times in the coming years.
