Toe Cleavage

I keep reading online about the perils of toe cleavage. I honestly didn't even realize this was a "thing" until recently. My thought is, if your shoes fit properly and your feet aren't bulging out of them, is it such a big deal?  Here is my problem. I have large feet. My size 10 feet got even a bit bigger after pregnancy. Most of the dress shoes I own provide me with varying amounts of toe cleavage, as shown by my new pair of Boden flats here. I have long feet and long toes and when shoe makers make shoes longer they don't tend to account for the size of the toe box. Even my two pairs of very conservative Cole Haan pumps leave me with a little bit of toe cleavage. I'm sure I could eliminate it if I was willing to pay $400-$500 or more for high end designer or custom fit shoes, but alas, that is not in the cards for me. For what it's worth there is a presidential jumbo (photograph) hanging up outside my office that shows Michelle Obama, impeccably dressed, in nice heels with toe cleavage. I say that if she can get away with it then so can I. These flats have color blocked heels that are navy blue. I also bought them in navy blue with orange heels. If you are interested Boden has them on clearance for only $30 a pair and they are real leather. Not an affiliate link, that's not my style, just wanted to share a good deal. So far they are pretty comfy for walking around.

P.S. - Did somebody say bad foot tan lines? Eep!
