Winter Again

Brrrrr! It's cold outside! I think it was in the 40's and still drizzling when I walked the dog this morning. It's not really feeling like the end of April at all. Hopefully it warms up this week. The weather was so nasty last night that we skipped the DC United match and then they, of course, beat the crap out of New York Red Bulls 4 - 1. Jake complained of a sore throat on Saturday which graduated to a full-blown cold on Sunday and it just wasn't worth standing out in 46-degree, driving rain to watch the match. Stinks we had to eat the cost of the tickets but it's not like we could re-sell them.

So our trip to Maine has been moved and we're now going mid-August. I'm kind of glad as we were starting to have a lot of stuff stacking up at the end of July and now it is more spaced out. I don't really care when we go just so long as we can get away for the week. Dublin will get to hopefully meet Jake's parents' dog Charley as I think the end of their trip will overlap with ours.

My brother was in town this weekend, on a brief visit from Phoenix. He was actually on the east coast for a couple of work assignments and was able to make a quick visit with family while here. It was great to see him but it's even nicer that we get to see him again in about a month when we travel out to Phoenix for a visit. We made a plan to go visit the Grand Canyon the first day that we're there and I am so excited!
