Like Spring, but not quite yet

When I got up to walk the pooch yesterday morning it was around 30 degrees outside. When I ducked outside at 12:30pm to get lunch I barely needed a jacket. When I got home I went for a jog in shorts and a t-shirt. Awesome. This morning, our bathroom which is normally freezing because it has two exterior walls, wasn't cold at all. I'm happy to have this mild weather, it makes the appearance of daffodils around the neighborhood seem much more reasonable. Of course if last Saturday evening is any indication, I suspect that I'll be fighting some crowds when I go over to Clarendon to meet a friend for dinner. This kind of weather in March on a Thursday brings the happy hour masses out. Don't they know I've had my plans for over a week? My calendar doesn't actually tell me when spring starts. Of course my calendar is from Hawaii, a gift from my coworker. Why would they need to know when spring starts? It's lovely there all the time!

Just got a visit from a coworker who left for the west coast shortly before the holidays last year. It was a nice surprise and totally made my day!
