An amazing thing happened on Saturday morning. After spending a relaxing Friday evening eating Chinese food and watching episodes of Chuck, we slept in. We had no plans, nothing to do on Saturday so we actually slept in. It was really nice. When we got up I went to the gym for a bit and then we headed out to run a couple of errands. We needed dog food and a shipping box, both of which were obtained in the same strip mall from neighboring stores. The holiday crowds were out in full force though. Our reward was a trip to our favorite brunch spot in Old Town. Then, believe it or not, despite sleeping in, we proceeded to nap the afternoon away before heading out to Herndon for dinner with my coworkers and friends' holiday party. Midnight rolled around and I didn't even feel tired, imagine that!
I'm happy because as of right now the majority of our vacation plan is in place, my fed job is now funded through the rest of the fiscal year, all of our holiday preparations have been taken care of and I don't have another 5-day work week until February.
I really hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday and that you find joy and happiness in the new year. I'm very curious to see what 2012 is going to bring for us. 2011 has definitely been a very interesting but enjoyable year.
