Long Distance Relationship
In just a little over a week my brother and sister-in-law are jumping in their moving truck and roadtripping to Phoenix. I'm so completely excited for them. Carey keeps referring to it as their new adventure and I completely agree. They are pretty well-set for their move. They have an apartment waiting for them there, they've sold/donated/cleaned out a lot of their belongings and are putting their house up on the market for short sale (the good kind) very soon. It's strange, I've always had my family close by. When I was younger I never thought much about this concept but now that I'm an adult and living in a very transient city I know that this is a novel concept. People's families are scattered all over the country. Marrying Jake was my first foray into this type of situation since his family is out in Milwaukee. All I know is that there will be lots of texting, emailing and Skype-ing. Not to mention it's a nice warm place to go visit in the winter time. I wish them the best of luck, I know they're going to like it and do well in their new surrounds and they will, of course, always have a place to crash when they come back east to visit.
