I have four words for you: self serve frozen yogurt. I had read about this in the past on other peoples' blogs. They were extolling the virtues of places like Menchie's and Yogurtini and I was jealous. Then a place opened near my work called FroZenYo. At first I was holding a grudge because it went into space the used to be occupied by the ADC map store. Of course the availability of travel material online for cheaper has of course put a hurting on places like this so I conceded defeat and accepted the presence of a froyo place. I still didn't try it. Then I asked one of my coworkers how it was and she informed me it was self serve. BINGO! My team lead and I went to check it out last week on Wednesday afternoon and it's awesome. I know it's not a new concept but it is new to me. I prepared a mix of vanilla and maple bacon doughnut flavored yogurts. (I KNOW! Maple bacon doughnut? With real vegetarian bacon flavor! Awesome!) I sprinkled some Heath bar on top and a little over $3 later I was set. The best part is that hot fudge and caramel are free. Add as much as you want after you pay. Awesome. They had a ton of flavors that switch around and are all low-fat or fat-free. You still have to watch the calories, particularly with the toppings, but it's a nice treat to have available.
It was still on my mind on Thursday so I found a place in White Marsh (Yogi Castle) while out with my mom and treated her to some. I think I got her hooked too. Now I'm just trying to figure out when it is appropriate to go back for some more. Is this afternoon too soon? Ha ha!

The one in Columbia is called Tutti-Frutti. We love that place, and NO it's not too soon to go back. :-)
