Softball

After a many-week hiatus due to vacation and photo class I am making my triumphant return to softball after work today. If the weather holds out. Of course it's 97-degrees outside right now so I'm not sure how excited I really am for today's game. Our team has a record of 2-2 right now, not to shabby for a bunch of rookies.

This heat wave is due to break this weekend. The high on Saturday is only 79. Of course preceding 79 with the word only seems a little funny. This is our summer though and we'll likely have a number of heat waves like this into September.

The weekend was most excellent, the perfect mix of planned and unplanned, of activity and relaxation. I couldn't have asked for better than watching movies and catching up with old friends, cooking delicious meals and enjoying tasty sangria out. And thanks to my new work schedule I have 2 more 4-day weeks in a row. The calendar for June and even July is starting to look more full, just a reminder that summertime, although hot, is the best time of year around here. Now if only the pollen count would die down so that my eyes could stop being watery-sticky messes.
