We ended up going to the St. Patrick's Day parade in DC on Sunday afternoon and I took lots of photos. I won't even ask you to guess where they are though because you know if you don't see them there they are still on my camera. I'll have time tomorrow evening to deal with that. After the parade we visited an old watering hole I hadn't been to in a while, Lauriol Plaza, for lunch and a pitcher of frozen swirl margarita. It was a perfect day, weatherwise, so after lunch we continued up through Adams Morgan and stopped at Napolean to have some bubbly. It was a wonderful day short of me forgetting why spending the afternoon drinking isn't something I do too much anymore. I was a tad hungover by the time we went to bed.
On Saturday I ran 14 miles, without much pain, thankfully, and then headed up to Baltimore to visit with my parents. My awesome mom is going to make us a quilt (super psyched about a homemade mom-quilt) so we headed out to the fabric store with my sister-in-law to pick out materials. This was followed by lunch and a stop at what I'm now deeming the most awesome store ever, the Hobby Lobby. Seriously if you like Michaels or AC Moore stores you should see if there's a Hobby Lobby near you, it's even better than both of those guys! Jake and I spent the evening watching the lower division men's basketball tournament games, some of which were very exciting, particularly the Ivy League championship and the MAC championship.
Our Friday evening plans of hosting Rock Band changed when our friend ended up having scheduled surgery on his knee moved up. We hit up Ireland's Four Courts for dinner and the Maryland game (they lost) before heading over to his house to hang out with him since he was stuck on the couch.
And that was the weekend, in reverse. It's a busy week this week. I paid a visit to a friend in Reston last night to meet her newest addition. Tonight I have yoga, which I'm looking forward to very much. Tomorrow Jake has a condo board meeting and Thursday we're meeting at the neighborhood Irish pub for a little St. Patrick's Day happy hour. It won't be the same as our St. Patty's Day adventure from last year but we've got some fun new adventures coming up soon.
I hope everyone's week has gotten off to a great start!
