Inspiration

In searching for castles for us to visit in Portugal I came across this amazing photo of Castelo de Marvão. Jake was really excited about the prospect of seeing some castles as we make our way from Caceres in Spain to Lisbon. I found two really great ones right on the way and excitedly shared this photo with him. I also printed out a copy and hung it up at my desk to give me something to look forward to.

After learning of a free shipping coupon code at J. Crew (FREESHIP through March 18, 2011) I headed onto their site to look for some vacation clothes. When I saw this dress I fell in love and I knew I had to have it! I looked up at my printed photo of the castle and immediately decided I had to have this dress to wear to the castle. It was a must and I'm still picturing it right now! (Yes I'm easily influenced by many, many things.) Image from jcrew.com.

Now I'm just trying to decide which shoes I will pack to go with it. I partially blame my friend who I visited last night for this transaction. Upon lamenting to her about how the marathon training has rendered many pairs of my jeans useless currently she enthusiastically recommended I just wear dresses. So, here we go!

And just so you don't think I'm completely crazy (okay, yes, you do) I will mention that when we were packing for our honeymoon I purposefully packed one particular sundress that I knew I wanted to wear on my favorite stop of the trip, Santorini. I look back at those pictures and it makes me so happy to see me in such a beautiful place in one of my favorite frocks. Perhaps this is some interesting strain of vanity, I don't know, but if planning outfits for a particular event is wrong, I don't want to be right!
