On again off again

Happy Monday! So the weather ended up being cool but sunny on Saturday, to further taunt me, of course. The entire weekend was good though, I have no complaints. Friday evening, after I napped, we headed out to the U Street corridor, which we hadn't been to in ages, to meet up with some friends. We hit up Ben's Next Door, the polished bar and restaurant attached to the infamout Ben's Chili Bowl. It was packed to the gills. We managed to find our crew and have a couple rounds before leaving all of the "excuse mes" behind for the comfort of the upstairs room at Stetsons. The end of both NCAA tournament games that night were very exciting.

Saturday morning it felt good to sleep in. We made a short grocery stop while walking Dubs and then awaited the arrival of my parents. We dragged them to the AAA office in Alexandria so we could get our international drivers permits, which are apparently required in Spain. Whether one of these is needed or not to drive in your destination country will vary. We didn't need one in Ireland. If you plan on driving overseas I recommend checking out the U.S. Embassy page of your destination country for details. Then we headed to Chadwick's Old Town location for lunch. The chef's brunch special was a 3-egg omelet with smoked salmon, feta and spinach. It was fantastic! In the evening we went to one of my coworker's homes to watch more NCAA tournament games. It was a good crowd with lots of tasty food there.

Yesterday, aside from the laundry, we didn't do much but relax. We took in a couple of movies, including The Hurt Locker, which I liked a lot. I saw an article on Sunday morning revealing that the star, Jeremy Renner, actually flips houses on the side to make more money. I thought that was pretty interesting.

So I want to apologize in advance. April is going to be a crazy month for us so there might be some hiatuses in posting here. Since I am no where near popular enough to warrant guest posting, I will promise to make it up to you with lots of great photos once our travels are over.

Finally I want to send a big hug and congrats to my fabulous friend Katie who ran the National Half Marathon on Saturday morning (while I was sleeping no doubt) at a time of 1:44:24. You, my friend, are awesome!
