Wanna know what the best part of my job is? Actually what the best part of any job I've had has been? Helping people. Last minute requests don't typically bother me because I know that helping someone out of a pinch makes them happy, which in turn makes me happy. Sure, I get frustrated at times but the instant gratification of saving the day for somebody is typically worth it. I think this is why I enjoyed working in retail when I was younger, and when I had time in my schedule to fill, I volunteered at the welcome desk at the local library. Boy that was fun at times. I always really enjoyed helping school kids find the things they needed for their research. I miss it sometimes but alas, my schedule is just a little too clustered these days.
So I'm convinced that we're suffering from the never-ending-winter here in the DC area. It's still only in the 30's or low 40's when I get up every day and I'm still wearing a scarf to work every day pretty much. Does Mother Nature realize that tomorrow is the last day of March? I'm hoping that by the time we return from our warmer weather destinations next month this winter has bid us it's final farewell.
We just learned yesterday that FC Barcelona is coming to the area at the end of July to play Manchester United in a friendly match. I'm so excited! Since I still am doubtful we'll actually get to see the match in Madrid next month this will be a nice consolation. I'll have to remember to pick up some authentic gear in Barcelona to wear! Having futbol to follow kinda helps make up for whatever the heck is going on with the NFL, and I don't think I can even talk about that right now...
