We made an unplanned trip to the car dealership last night to have both of our cars appraised as trade-ins. As expected the results were very underwhelming so we're going to explore other options on hopes of getting more money for them. Also disappointing was to learn that they have no front-wheel drive versions of the car we want in stock. They said they could get it from another dealership and it will only cost us more if it has extras installed on it. This, of course, is such a crock, but we'll deal with it when the time comes I suppose. The sales guy tried to tell me that they sold lots of CR-Vs last week when the weather was bad and I have to say I don't believe one word of that. Driving anywhere was dangerous and I seriously doubt anyone decided "Hey let's go buy a car" on Wednesday night when it was taking people 5-10 hours to get home from work because of ice and snow.
This weekend is going to rock though, I can't wait! Tomorrow we're going to a red wine tasting event at EatBar, I just have to get through a 14-mile run first. They're offering up 20 reds to taste and food tomorrow afternoon. Jake and I have only really started to get into reds in the past year so this will be a good opportunity to start up some notes on what we like. We might go early and partake in their big screen cartoon brunch. I was happy to learn that we can take the 42 ART bus from Pentagon City pretty much right to the restaurant because wine tasting plus driving is a BIG no-no.
Sunday, of course, we'll be cheering on the Packers with friends at a Super Bowl party. I'm making the aforementioned white chicken chili and some of the monkey bread that I've gotten my friends hooked on.
Seriously, does that not look completely amazing? I'll be honest and upfront, this is not a healthy recipe whatsoever and I think it would be a complete tragedy to try and recreate it as such. The worst thing about this is that it stays super hot for a while after you dump it out of the pan but it can be really hard to resist grabbing at it right away.
I was supposed to meet some of my photography classmates on Sunday afternoon but I'm not sure if that's still going on. A number of them signed up for the photo essay class that I thought wasn't being offered until spring. With the marathon training I decided that taking it now would put a little too much on my plate but I do feel bad that I've been slacking in that department lately. I miss shooting. How did I let myself get too busy for it? I hope that warmer weather fewer other commitments will bring me back to it in the spring.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Hey theere! For what it's worth the folks at SportHonda in Silver Spring got us a blue Fit from a dealership in Baltimore for a grand total of $99 more. We decided that was o.k.
Before we can even figure out whether or not they can get us what we want our sales guy has to get back to us. It's strange, he doesn't seem particularly motivated to sell us a vehicle so we might end up going somewhere else anyway. It's boggling my mind.
