I didn't really mention or recap the 5k from Sunday morning, did I? Aside from the photos below that is. I should have been able to somewhat easily PR this race given all of the marathon training and speedwork I've incorporated into it thus far. But I didn't. I believe my time, 26:54, is my second fasted 5k time so far, however, I felt like total crap the entire time. And I took two walk breaks! I will be completely honest in telling you why. I felt as though drinking Fox Barrel Pear Cider (yum), eating monkey bread (double yum) and staying up too late, while hanging out with my friends was more important. And it was. The course has a pretty significant hill at the beginning which totally zapped me for the rest of the race and the only reason I timed as fast as I did was because I could really push it coming back down the hill at the end. If I had it to do over again, I'd likely do the exact same thing. Just a small reminder to me that although I do love running, it is not my entire life. How cute was the logo for this year's race?
