Glorious Day

It's in the 70's outside right now! I wasn't planning on going out this evening but now I'm tempted to, at least for a little while. I've got a 20-ish mile run scheduled for early tomorrow morning. I could push this to Sunday but we're hosting a little RockBand party at our house tomorrow evening which means I won't be able to go to bed early. I'm hoping to catch the tail end of this mild weather for my run in the morning and beat the winds that are apparently coming. Sigh, what to do? The run is important now that I'm only 5 weeks out from the marathon so I suspect I might have to compromise and just eat dinner on the balcony tonight.

We're also headed to Baltimore in our new wheels to visit with my parents tomorrow. I'm looking forward to seeing them very much. They're about to start a big bathroom renovation and I know they're excited to tell us all about it. After tomorrow evening though I have no plans for the rest of my 3-day weekend. I plan to spend plenty of time relaxing and perhaps finally going out to get some of the finishing touches on our bathrooms. I got an email from Michael's chocked full of coupons, yay!

I went online today in hopes of getting tickets to DC United's home opener next month against the Columbus Crew. I was hoping that their online system wasn't using Ticketmaster but of course that wasn't the case. I wasn't really willing to pay an extra $7.45 per ticket in fees on top of the $28 price to sit behind the goal. It's highway robbery for a match that I know won't sell out. We're going to take our chances on the box office on the day of instead I think. I just loathe Ticketmaster with all my being. I've slowly watched their fees creep up year after year and in most cases there isn't much I can do about it. Anyway, my women's DCU jersey that I got on sale was apparently delivered today. I'll model it for you all later, promise!

So I heard on the internets that you can add some boxed cake mix to pancake batter and make birthday cake pancakes. Has anyone tried this and had success? I'm very intrigued.

we always buy our single match tickets through the Screaming Eagles. No Ticketmaster, no fees. Always fun (and less crazy than the Barra Brava section). And you can pay a little more and tailgate with them (they have kegs of good stuff).

Oooh, thanks for the tip! I didn't realize you could buy through them if you weren't a member.
