Don't worry, I mean with my camera. Yesterday while working on my latest photo class assignment I found that shooting was a good excuse to obtain sweets. I went into Lavender Moon Cupcakery and ordered a vanilla bean cupcake before asking if I could take a photo of their lovely cupcake display. I hope the pictures turned out, they're still on my camera right now. Then I decided that if I was going to go into Candi's Candy to photo their taffy barrels, I should probably purchase some and bring some home. This hobby could prove to be dangerous for my waistline. I'm not quite done shooting for the week so I'll be posting those tomorrow or Wednesday. I can't believe this week is my 6th class out of 8 already. I'll be sad when it's over because it has been very enjoyable. I hope Steve Miller is teaching either portraitry or photo essays at the Arlington Arts Center in the spring.
Overall it was a very nice weekend. Friday's dinner at Victoria Gastropub in Columbia was great! It was so great to catch up with my brother and sister-in-law, although I felt bad because Fridays are often tired days for me. On Saturday we cleaned in preparation for the arrival of my in-laws on Wednesday. We watched a fair amount of football and checked out the new digs of one of our friends over in the Columbia Heights neighborhood. It was great to see and catch up with some of Jake's coworkers. I also experimented with making baked apples. It took two tries before they were even really edible and I think I still have a few wrinkles to iron out.
It's a short week this week with Thursday being a federal holiday and I'm only working half the day on Friday. Thank goodness because last week dragged on like it was nobody's business. I suppose we need to start thinking about the holidays now. Jake's is the only gift that has been purchases so far so we have some work to do.
Have a great week everyone! (Photo via)
