More Photos

So the statistics on the blog tell me that quite a number of people have ended up here after searching for photos of Bustins Island Maine. I didn't realize that photos of Bustins would be so popular but even my father-in-law, who didn't know about the blog, ended up here as the result of a similar search (and commented on the fact that he's sitting on the porch in one of the photos). I have a large collection of photos from Bustins as I have found it to be incredibly inspiring when I've been there, camera in hand. I'll post another collection of them so all of you regulars to the island can reminisce fondly.

I signed up for a photography class, finally! I finally have evenings free to do it! I deliberated over taking it through Arlington County, the Glen Echo partnership, the Art League at the Torpedo Factory and finally ended up choosing the Arlington Arts Center. The price wasn't unreasonable and the person who teaches the class is a published photographer. I start on Thursday evenings next month for 8 sessions. I hope I get a lot out of it.

That being said I am making a vow to take my camera with me more often so that I will have stuff to post here. I always mean to do it and then I just forget. My shooting skills will only improve with practice though so I'm making an effort to shoot more.

I enjoyed the lovely almost fall weather on the patio at Ireland's Four Courts last night with a friend. Another friend of ours showed up a little later which was a nice surprise. The temperature was just fantastic so I had a nice crisp salad to go with my cider. It was the perfect evening to be out.

This weekend we have the Arlington 9/11 5k. I want to really tear it up but I also don't want to strain my legs for the half marathon next weekend. I'll have to find a healthy balance in my pace I think. Jake's running this one with me. Then it'll be off to celebrate yet another 30th birthday of a friend of mine. Sunday we're watching football with friends. Make me so glad fall is finally descending upon us!
