Okay, so I wasn't really going to say anything about it but I'm feeling pretty confident now and I am excited to report that I've signed up to run a marathon at the end of March here in DC. I used to say I could never do it but since training for the half has been going so well, and I know once we have kids my time for training will be much more limited, I figured now is as good of a time as any. Not telling gave me a chance to opt out shamelessly but then I figured if I talked about it then I would feel more obligated to actually go through with it. Let's hope for no training injuries in the process. I'm really excited.
That being said, I should mention that my 12 mile long run tomorrow will officially be the farthest I have run thus far in my life. I'm actually looking forward to it very much although I'm not sure how much I'm looking forward to getting up way early on a Saturday to beat the heat. At least I know I can nap once I get back and get cleaned up.
Tonight, Jake and I were planning to go out to dinner to celebrate my finishing school. It's funny because when I started thinking about all of the restaurants we love and trying to decide what I wanted to do I came to an amusing conclusion. I told him I wanted to get take out pizza slices and then go to Northside Social for wine. For some reason pizza seems to be a good night-before-long-run meal for me despite its unhealthiness. I'll have to limit the wine though and be sure to hydrate. Still, it'll be a nice evening for sitting outside. The rest of the weekend is up in the air. We're hoping to get together with friends coming into town from Philadelphia and I'm planning a trip to Trader Joe's for some supplies. Viva la weekend! Dublin has apparently picked up some whipworms, which aren't terribly serious, but have been causing her some "lower intestinal malfunction" to be polite. We're treating her for them and as usual, the little trooper has not let it slow her down at all. Since today is my day of total rest in my training schedule, I got up a little early and took her on a nice long walk, combining 3 of the smaller loops we normally take. She seemed to really enjoy it. Jake is now on telecommute 4 days a week so I know she's been enjoying not having to be alone all day.
I suppose I should stop procrastinating on my work this morning as a few projects have come my way at once. I'm still keeping an eye on what seems to have become the longest Woot Off I've seen yet. Still no bag of crap. I'll keep you posted on that! Everyone enjoy your weekend!

That's super awesome, Karen, I'm really impressed especially since I've been back on the running bandwagon... and I don't think I could ever run a marathon or even a half! Maybe I could occasionally join you on a shorter run though? It would be nice to have a running partner...
Absolutely Coll, I'd love to run with you! Just let me know. Sundays are good days for me to do shorter runs in recovery from Saturday's longer ones.
