Dragging ass

For some reason I'm particularly tired this week, not sure why. I am happy though that I haven't succumbed to the lure of caffeine here at work to help wake me up. Jake seems to also be carrying around the perpetual tiredness this week unfortunately. Hopefully we'll get some good rest this weekend to compensate. Work for me has been busy for the first time in a while. It's nice, the days fly by much faster when that is the case.

I made my first batch of overnight oats last night after reading about them online, a lot. They seem to be very popular right now. I basically mixed 1/2 c. rolled oats, 1/2 c. skim milk, 1/2 c. vanilla organic greek yogurt, 1/2 tbsp of brown sugar and some dried cranberries in a bowl last night, covered it and left it in the fridge overnight. The oats did a nice job of soaking up the liquid. I got the bowl out before I walked the dog this morning so that it wouldn't be totally freezing when I ate it for breakfast upon my return. Right before eating I added a touch of honey and some slices of banana. It was surprisingly tasty and not weird eating cold "oatmeal" at all. Mine was a touch on the liquidy side so next time I'll likely cut back to 1/3 c. of milk but other than that they were wonderful. Now I'm thinking of all these other things I could add like raisins, blueberries, peanut butter, cocoa. The possibilities are endless! I'll snap a photo next time before I devour them!

We've started real research for our spring trip. Amazingly it seems that Real Madrid is playing FC Barcelona in Madrid on April 17th. We're going to splurge for tickets** and it's nice to have an "event" to plan the dates of our trip around. I'm very excited as I know that this game, in Spain, is a once in a lifetime experience for us! Hopefully the rest of the details will work out nicely. We're currently debating the train vs rental car for a portion of the trip so that we can visit some of the castles along the Spain/Portugal border. I think it's worth the hassle of getting rental for.

I hope the rest of everyone's week plays out nicely. It's going to be a busy weekend with lots of girl time for me and another 12-mile run, yay!

**If we can figure out where to get them from and if they don't cost more than our airfare...
