The Strong Survive

Sorry for the quick plug but I wanted to post this to try and help out some friends. My grandfather was one of my most favorite people in the world. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer when I was just 12 years old. He was treated and in remission for nearly 18 years after. I was very lucky to have him in my life for so long. He even helped teach me how to drive! Recently, good friends of ours found out their father had been diagnosed. He was successfully treated and is even back to running again. This weekend they're running a 5-mile race in support of prostate cancer research. If you or someone you know have been affected by this and feel like making a donation in support of their run, you can do it here. I know they appreciate any and all donations!

Consequently I have also signed up for a race in September, the Race for Dad 10k in Alexandria VA which is also in support of prostate cancer research. I'm really glad that it is getting more attention these days as it is much more prominent than I think most people realize.
