Walking it Out

This is the treadmill desk my office purchased with year end money last year. After the first of the year, as a result of some peer pressure from my coworkers, I became one of those crazy FitBit people. After about a month of obsessing over my daily number of steps and outfitting my Flex with colorful band choices, I fell into a pretty good rhythm. I set my daily goal to 15,000 steps and am able to meet that most days. The treadmill desk helps a lot with that. I typically spend the first 60 to 90 minutes of my day logged in here (I am strolling as I type this). The walking has helped me in a lot of ways. I also stand at my desk most days so although I am yet to see how this affects my leg health, the rest of me feels great. I don't get the stopped up gassy feeling that I would sometimes get after lunch from sitting hunched at my computer. I don't really have a lot of time to devote to other exercise these days so the walking has become my mission. I am also using the FitBit app as a food log and to keep track of my weight as I whittle down the last dregs of baby weight. Everyone I mention this amazing treadmill desk to is mildly astounded. I am very lucky to have it at my disposal. Multi-tasking is the name of my new game.
