We had a very nice holiday weekend. It was a really nice break from work and such and ended with us getting an offer on our condo. Of course this one is less than promising so I am not getting my hopes up. I can't really get into the details here. I could, but that would be inappropriate, so I'll just say that it is a bit of an eye opener and if we end up selling to them it will be a miracle. Still it is good to know we're getting traffic over there even now that we're into the holiday season.
We spent Thanksgiving with my family in Baltimore. It was so great to see my brother and sister in law. They are doing well in Phoenix. My brother actually came down and spent the day with us on Friday too, unfortunately Declan was suffering a bit with tooth pain and was not happy most of the day. We did manage to go out to lunch though. He was great on Thanksgiving though and had us in hysterics at the table when he smashed mashed potatoes into the side of his head. And he ate like a mad man. His appetite lately has been amazing and he drinks lots of milk.
On Saturday Jake worked in the yard, collecting leaves, while I played with the little man and did some random jobs while he napped. He was in a much better mood. One of the two molars he has been working on for over a month actually broke through. The other one still bothers him, as he indicated last night, so I hope it comes through soon too. This was the day that Harry Potter was on all day and I baked a ton of cupcakes for a charity bake sale here at work this week.
Sunday evening we visited friends who now only live about a mile away, which is awesome. Their kids are 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 and it is funny hearing them say their versions of "Duclin" and "Dec-a-lin". They enjoyed his company despite him being so young.
Throughout the weekend we caught up on a bunch of soccer matches we had recorded and also picked back up on watching Breaking Bad via Netflix. We are halfway through season three and things are intense. It's funny, we were annoyed when we transferred our Verizon FiOS service to the house that they insisted on taking our old DVR box and sending us a new one. Then we discovered that we have like 4x the storage space on the new box. This is great because we can record lots of soccer matches and keep shows on hand for Declan like Dinosaur Train. (I think we like Dinosaur Train more than he does currently.)
So now I am trying to decide what to get my boys for Christmas. I have a couple of Fisher Price Little People Batman playsets I got on sale set aside. I was going to give them to Declan for his birthday but decided to wait since I ended up also getting him alphabet blocks and an inflatable bouncy horse. For Jake, I am bummed because I had a really great idea last week and I forgot it before I had to chance to write it down. I can't, for the life of me, remember. Am I allowed to claim mommy brain on this one?
I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday!
