How Much, How Many?

I am finding that clothes shopping for the little guy is a bit of a challenge. This is from the standpoint of now that he's outgrown the majority of the gift and handed down clothes I have no idea how much to buy for him. I have no real idea of how many pairs of pants, tops, sweatshirts he will really need for fall and winter. As an adult I thrive on having options in my wardrobe. I probably have way more clothes than I actually need right now, especially considering we don't go out as much as we used to. With him it is hard not to want to have options but on the other hand he's too young to care and as long as he has enough to get him through the laundry cycle he's good to go. I went a little overboard buying him pants for fall. Going out of summer I had 2 pairs of jeans and one pair of pants for him, that was it. I hit up some sales and ended up with a whole variety of different types of pants, most of them sized to fit him come fall with room to grow through the winter. Looking at them piled up (with the other random cute things I had to buy for him including a tot-sized Aaron Rodgers jersey) I am thinking I may have gone a little overboard. At least I will be able to hold out and do less frequent larger loads of laundry for him. Now I just need to figure out if he has enough tops and if not then I need to try and do my best to get ones that will match all the various pairs of pants. This is a lot harder than I thought it would be.
