Storms and such

Local meteorologists are calling for some pretty heinous weather here tomorrow, possible on the scale of last summer's derecho. I believe I posted some photos of the aftermath from around my neighborhood which fortunately didn't get too torn up aside from all the people without power. I was alone for the weekend and was one of the only people I knew who actually had power. This was a good thing given I was mid-pregnancy. I guess we'll see what tomorrow brings but they are calling for it during the day so we will have to remember to bring in some things from the balcony in the morning and I'll have to remember to wear my rain boots in the morning even if it isn't raining yet. Hopefully it won't end up being anything too serious.

My brother is coming into town this weekend/next week for work and to visit. This is two years in a row we've gotten to spend Father's Day with him which is awesome. Jake and I are making dinner at my parents' house this year. We decided to make tacos for everyone. Should be easy and enjoyable. I'm also going to bake a cake.

We are hoping for nice weather this weekend so that we can take the little guy to the pool for the first time. I've got swim diapers, trunks and a rash guard just waiting for him. I hope the water has warmed up a bit since the pool opened for Memorial Day weekend (and it was 58 degrees in the DC area according to my neighbors).
