Oblivious
I think I may have mentioned that we share a nanny with a friend of mine. She has a 2-year-old daughter and just recently gave birth to her second daughter. Normally we drop Declan off at their house which works great because they have a lot more space. This week we have been hosting the nanny though so that they can get settled with their new little one. We love our nanny, she is wonderful. She is very caring, easy to work with, with the exception of her limited English, and she loves Declan very much. She always gushes about how he is a good baby even though I know there are likely days when he isn't at his best. As we've been preparing for vacation this week I've been rushing to get a lot of things done. I came home yesterday to find all of our clean laundry that I had washed the night before had been folded on our bed. Then I discovered that Declan's dirty laundry had also been washed, dried and folded in his room. As the evening went on I started to notice that during the course of this week the nanny had been cleaning around the condo for us, something we never expected her to do. Obviously taking care of 2 kids is tiring and I would completely expect her to relax when she gets a few quiet moments. Instead she's been cleaning. I couldn't thank her enough this morning and I am hoping to find a nice gift for her when we are in Maine. She is on a week of paid vacation from us next week and I think my friend as well so hopefully she takes some time to herself to enjoy and rest. Of course she will say how much she will miss our little guy when we are gone.
