Today...

I am filing today under tiny victories. The maternity pants I bought for work finally fit. When they first arrived a few weeks ago I didn't have enough belly but now they should be in regular rotation for the duration of the summer and into the fall.

Last night was nearly a delicious Tex-Mex food disaster. After a busy weekend Jake and I headed to Guapos in Shirlington for dinner. I was so hungry by the time food was put in front of me I ate way too quickly. I was smart enough not to finish my combo (enchilada and a chile releno) but I still filled up way too fast. Jake asked if it was possible to fit a food baby and a real baby inside me and I told him I was unfortunately finding out. Let's just say space was extremely limited for about an hour or so after dinner. Oops. Note to self: eat slower and eat less.

We had a productive weekend which unfortunately did not include clearing photos off of our cameras. We did make quick work of organizing my shoe collection thanks to some newly purchased shoe cubbies. We also made our first trip to Babies R Us together, just to check it out. Let me just say that Jake was great! Our goal was just to look at three specific things so as not to overwhelm our brains. This was a great plan. Jake had some great insights on the subjects of safety gates, bottles and bibs. Hopefully when it comes time to make the actual registry we can keep the same level-heads.

We also made some decent progress on my liquor cabinet refinishing project. We got the whole thing primed and spray painted. The color looks great, nice and even. The finish is a little blotchy though so I think we are going to need to sand it a bit and give it a second coat. We won't have time to work on it for a couple of weeks though so the unit has time to cure before we go at it again.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I am currently contemplating my lunch options, definitely not Tex-Mex...
