In the wee early hours

It never ceases to amaze me how productive I can be between the hours of 7:30 and 9:00am. Most of the office is still empty so it's quiet and easy to concentrate. Requests sometimes come in via email overnight so I have something to focus on first thing. It makes me feel good to actually get a productive start to the day and distracts me from the fact that eating breakfast at 6:00am means I'm hungry again by 8:30.

I've been familiarizing myself with CDC's new WONDER online database. Yes, I am geek but pulling and manipulating numbers gives me some weird sense of satisfaction, even if they are mortality-related.

So last night Jake had on one of the NCAA tournament play-in games. President Obama was there with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (as is his official title). The person interviewing them was pretty savvy if I might say. The PM had never been to a basketball game before and the interviewer asked him if he saw any similarities between it and football. Of course he meant football, as in footie, as in soccer as we call it here. I appreciated that the interviewer used that term and didn't just assume that American football was the only kind. Props to him for being worldly.

These posts have gotten completely random and for that I apologize. Our condo is still a little bit of a mess from the reorganization project over the weekend. We're slowly getting things back in order. I'll post photos when it's all done.

And today I'm using a new moisturizer. I smell like citrus and rosemary. It's, interesting.
