As I wait (ugh) to get the info I need to finish my current project I went looking into the 'My Photos' folder on my work computer here. I've been at my job for 6 years and have tried to keep that folder cleaned up but there is still a very random collection of things. Some of these, some of you have already seen, some maybe not but for your entertainment, here goes:
This was one of my photo class photos that didn't make the cut. I do like the way the ivy in the background looks, just wish Jake didn't look so stiff.
My quick foray into sports photography was a bust, but here's Jake doing some of what he does best.
Dublin, on the first day we brought her home. She was so thin, poor thing, and stayed that way until after her heartworm treatment was successfully completed. Now she's a lean, mean, muscle-machine!
This is how we celebrated the "blizzard" of December 2009. Yes, we registered for not one but two glass yards. We are those people. And they are awesome.
And speaking of the wedding I still think this might be my favorite photo. It's in the top 10 at least. Nothing says love like smashing cake all over your spouse's face. Yes, that is green frosting in my eyebrow. Cake photo is up next, for reference. (This photo and the next are from the fabulous Emily Johnson of Emily Johnson Photography in Milwaukee.)
And just when you thought... this isn't such a random collection...
If you happen to visit Elsie's Magic Skillet, which is near Fort Belvoir in Northern Virginia, you will get a most delicious, most unhealthy brunch, with your choice of eight, that's right eight, packets of Smuckers jam. Awesome.
This stone wall is at Monticello. For those who don't know the story, Jake and I visited on a particularly warm April day and by the time our tour time for the house came up I was kind of dehydrated and totally blacked out. They had to wheel me out in a wheelchair and I was freaking out because you aren't allowed to touch anything in the house. Fortunately I didn't collapse and I recovered very quickly. Jake said he never saw my pupils so dialated, he he!
My family, just after the White House holiday tour. My coworker took this one.
This is the cliff that I jumped a fence and ran out onto during the Ardmore Cliff Walk in Ireland. I was an idiot. The grass was like a foot long and folded over. I could have been stepping on anything and this thing could have totally crumbled in any spot. I was very excited... and stupid.
This is Laura Bush speaking at a staff event at DAR Constitution Hall in 2007. I was selected to represent my agency on stage. I'm all the way to the right (as if my hair didn't clue you in).
Finally, thanks to my friend for sending along a few more photos from this past weekend. First off, we look pretty good post-race. Secondly that pitcher of beer is bigger than my head. Love it!
