The Green Album

So, okay, Weezer reference, right? Well, not in this case although they are featured on this album with Hayley Williams of Paramore. I just learned (thanks to Matt Nathanson's Facebook page) that a group of modern artists have compiled an album of songs from The Muppets. The album isn't available until next week but NPR is streaming the entire album online here. It's pretty cool. If you check it out and click the option to stream the entire album be aware that it doesn't give you track information in the process. This Amazon page on the album will fill you in though. The track listing isn't in the exact order they play it in but you can figure out which tracks are which. So far I really like the Weezer/Hayley Williams version of Rainbow Connection and The Fray's version of Mahna Mahna. Enjoy!  Image via Amazon.com.

We went on the DC Beer Week tasting cruise via the Odyssey dinner cruise ship last night and boy was that a good time. There were over 50 beers available to taste with a number of them that weren't on the original list (thank you John from Heavy Seas who brought whatever he could find in his apartment, The Davy Jones lager was delish). There were some new local DC breweries in attendence including DC Brau and 3 Stars. They had some good offerings and I'm looking forward to seeing them start appearing in local establishments. The rain held off and it was a wonderful night on the boat. The DJ kicked it up after dinner and we even spent some time on the dance floor. I totally recommend the event to anyone who is a beer enthusiast. It was well worth the money and even the extra we paid for VIP to get us on the boat ahead of the rest of the crowds.
