DiorShow Iconic Mascara
I have to wear the chestnut color because of my fair complexion, eye color and blond (read: white) eyelashes. I love this mascara so much. The brush does a pretty good job of separating my lashes and the mascara extends them nicely without looking overly crazy long. It holds up well throughout the day too with just minor flaking that can be easily brushed away under my eyes. It also washes off very easily.COR Silver Soap
This stuff is a little pricey but oh my gosh, it has changed my life. I am one of those girls whose nose goes from matte (after powdering) to shiny very quickly. I wouldn't say my skin is overly oily but for some reason my adult years have been plagued with shiny nose syndrome. After using the COR soap twice a day as directed for only 1 week my nose no longer becomes a full-on oil slick by mid-afternoon. I might have to touch up with pressed powder towards the end of the day if I've been outside and it's warm. I'm so happy with these results, I can't even begin to tell you.The Daily Plate
I've used this site on and off before and may have talked about it, not sure. I've been using it religiously though since after we got back from Portugal and I have found it to be very helpful. I personally don't think I am obsessive about calorie counting, this site is just really good at opening my eyes with regards to what I'm eating. It was an eye-opener to see that those handful or two of candy snacks from my coworker's office was such a significant portion of the amount of calories I was eating during the work day. It's easy to use and the database of foods has grown a lot since I first started using it.Eden Organic Dried Cranberries
So you know I'm a dried cranberry addict. I put them in a lot of things from yogurt to cereal to salads. When I went on my crusade to cut down on refined sugar I realized the cranberries were a huge offender. I should have realized it earlier because cranberries are naturally very tart. After some research I have found Eden Organic. Their dried fruit is sweetened with organic apple juice, not refined sugar. There's no real reduction in the caloric content but I feel much better putting simple sugar in my system over refined and they taste almost exactly the same! This surprised me the most I think. I also ordered some of their dried tart cherries which are also quite tasty.Cherries
Speaking of cherries the grocery store has been lacking the Ranier cherries that are supposed to be in season right now. Regardless the Bing cherries I have been getting have been absolutely fantastic. I've been snacking on them non-stop. I like to keep a bowl of them and a bowl of grapes in the fridge, ready to go for when I'm craving a snack. This is a genius plan and keeps me away from less healthy options that I keep on hand as real treats. Our CR-V
So the real test of our new vehicle came when we took it up to Connecticut a couple of weekends ago. It's a great roadtrip car. We got decent gas mileage (averaging around 28 mpg on the way up) and it was smooth and comfortable. Even the dog seems more at ease riding in this car than Jake's Civic. I'm so happy we bought it. We also enjoy tailgating with it before the DC United games.Okay so that's a pretty random list but I just wanted to share. Today is my Friday and a full weekend is ahead of me. I hope everyone is surviving this "heat tent" that seems to be covering a good portion of the country right now!
