Long Weekend

This week just flew by. We were both very busy so I guess that's why. A new year brought new ideas and requests for me at work. Busy is good, in my opinion. I suppose I should get out of the habit of going into our plan for the weekend because things, as I mentioned previously, never seemed to go as planned. We did manage to get out to Lowe's one evening this week to buy the paint and supplies for our guest bathroom project. It's a small room but a big job as we have to actually sand down the existing glossy paint before we paint over it. This will ensure better coverage. The actual painting shouldn't take that long but then I will have the task of cleaning and painting the grout between the floor tiles. Fun times. Not sure how much of that will get done this weekend but definitely some of it will.

We also need to do some test drives of the vehicles we are considering as a replacement for our current ones. In the running are:

the Honda CR-V (source),

Mazda CX-7 (source

and Subaru Forester (source).

I was actually comtemplating something a little larger, something that would seat 7, but we compromised on a 5-seater SUV. Our parking spot isn't huge, these are more bank account friendly and we don't want a total gas guzzler so one of these options makes more sense. I think, based on what we've read, that the Honda is in the lead in our minds right now but that could all change once we're behind the wheel.

I've got another long run attempt planned for tomorrow morning. There's no snow in the forecast so hopefully this one goes according to plan. I nearly broke my teeth on the PowerBar I brought with me on last Saturday's run as it was pretty cold outside and it had started to freeze. Boy do I look forward to that again, ha ha!

Tonight though I believe our plan, after a trip to the gym for some strength training, is a nice pasta dinner followed but finishing up The Tudors series on DVD. What a crazy time that was. I'm really glad I didn't live back then.

Finally our NFL playoff hopes for the weekend include a Packers win, a Jets win, a Seahawks win and a Steelers win. Hope everyone has a nice weekend! (image source)

Thanks Christina! You're too sweet! I really like what I've seen so far in online research about the Honda so I look forward to driving it.
