Hanging with the map geeks

Tonight I made my way out to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History for a reception hosted by ESRI, the biggest GIS software vendor in the industry. They were hosting their annual Federal Users conference in DC this week and I wanted to go today but my back was bothering me up until the mid-afternoon. I made it to the event though which was a lot of fun. I reconnected with some old coworkers and checked out the museum at a time that it's not normally open to the masses. I also ran into one of my exes which is usually inevitable at one of these things but it was nice to realize that I'm not harboring any anger towards him for all the crap he pulled many moons ago. Anyway here are some photos including some of me and my GIS boys being silly. Sorry as these are all iPhone photos in low light... sigh.

This is where all the females were gathering, around the Hope Diamond, the ultimate of all bling.
