Too Little Time

It was a busy long weekend. We had a good time and I think my in-laws did as well. We spent Thursday afternoon at Arlington Cemetery. Despite living in Arlington for 7 years now, I had never been. It was a gorgeous day. It's an interesting place and I'll have photos to share in the next day or two. On Friday I worked in the morning and then met Jake and his parents in Chinatown for lunch before hitting up the National Building Museum. They have an exhibit of famous large buildings all completely in Lego. It was pretty impressive. On Saturday we went up to Baltimore and ended up meeting my parents for crab cake lunch at G&M Restaurant. I love that place and never get there quite often enough. On Sunday Jake's aunt, uncle and cousins from Salisbury met us in Georgetown for brunch. Then we watched football until it was time for my in-laws to head back to Milwaukee.

I did manage to keep up with my running schedule, completing a 10 mile training run early on Saturday morning. In the evening on Saturday Pentagon Row was having their annual holiday kick off event. Jake and I walked Dublin through the area on our way to pick up some milk. Some little girls were very excited to meet Dublin and one of them, before I could stop her, put Dubs in a full on "stuffed animal" type of hug. Dubs was incredibly pleased even though I was nervous for a moment that this type of behavior would upset her. Hopefully the girls' parents will teach them how to let a dog meet them before jumping right in, but I'm so happy that she deals well with and likes kids so much.

I've got a bazillion things to finish up by Tuesday morning of next week when we head on vacation. It's going to be a busy week and I haven't even really had a chance to do a lot of photographing for my last assignment. I did get some good shots over the weekend and I hope to get some more in the next couple of days. I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend!
