Evening out

Jake and I headed to the Union Street Public House (photo via) for dinner in Old Town Alexandria last night. We'd been meaning to go for a while and had only been for drinks previously, although I think I definitely spent a few evenings there back in the day. The menu is a little seafood heavy but Jake didn't mind. I had a salad with smoked salmon which was delicious and he opted for fish and chips. After dinner we wandered over to the still busy bar area and each had a beer. We enjoy walking through Old Town and speculating on how much some of those well-kept historic properties actually cost. We still might move down there eventually, although that would still mean pretty much not having a yard, whereas in Arlington there are plenty of SFH with yards and such. Plus it was just reported that students in Arlington County saw an increase in SAT scores while on average nationally scores stayed the same. Go Arlington!
