She got a deal!

One of these days my hubby will write another post. I cut him slack because I'm much more chatty and he's been working much harder than me these days. He spent yesterday on his work laptop in various places in our condo including the balcony, the office/guest room and the coffee table in front of the TV.

I'd been eyeing up this new lens for my camera. I don't claim to be some great photographer, not by any means, but the kit lens (Canon 17-55mm) that came with my Rebel XTi camera leaves a bit to be desired. I already purchased a great zoom/macro lens (70-300mm I believe) but I wanted a better "walking around" lens. I'd been eyeing the Canon EF 28-135mm IS zoom lens for a while now as it is well reviewed on Amazon. I started trolling on Ebay this weekend. This lens is/was apparently the kit lens for one of Canon's much more expensive digital SLR cameras and people have been selling them new, out of the kit. I found a deal last night as someone cut the price on it in their Ebay photo shop so I clicked away at "Buy it now" to make it mine. I'm pretty excited as I'll be well outfitted when we head to Venice. I ordered a circular polarizer filter to go with it. Now I just need to get a new camera bag that can handle my growing collection of stuff. Oh and photography class would probably help me out too. Looking for one of those come fall.
