Secret Code

Well, okay, HTML is not a secret code but it might as well be to me given that I'm pretty clueless when it comes to it. I spent a couple of hours at campus yesterday working on my project. All was going well until it came time to work on the code and then I kinda hit a wall. Jake's going to help me finish it on Saturday though, thankfully. Once that is done I will hopefully never have real homework ever again.

The work event on Friday was a smashing success. Out of 72 cupcakes there were only 4 left when all was said and done. And the event only lasted about an hour and 15 minutes. And most of the other food disappeared just as quickly. It was surprising. My coworker made a fantastic looking pecan pie that was gone within the first 20 minutes. My other coworker made a whole large bowl of homemade salsa that also got drained dry. I was impressed. My coworkers kept telling me I should go into business and end up on TLC or Discovery, ha ha! I told them that if baking became my job I wouldn't love it as much anymore. After it was over I met up with friends at Spider Kelly's for drinks. I went home early, leaving Jake playing shuffleboard, in preparation for my Saturday morning training run. The 11 miles went pretty well with the exception of my desperate stop in one of the Gravelly Point port-a-potties. One of the worst experiences of my life, no doubt. It was hot in there, smelly, dirty and worst of all it totally broke my stride with less than 3 miles left. Hopefully that won't happen again.

Our Saturday rounded out with a trip to Old Town to order a light fixture for our bathroom redecoration and brunch at Chadwicks. Boy do we love that place! I vegged for the rest of the afternoon into the evening and we enjoyed some cheese tortellini with homemade italian meatballs while watching Mad Men on DVD.

Sunday morning I made my weekly attack on the dog hair around our place before heading out to school. I really wish I'd been able to make more progress on my project as my anxiety is not a fan of having be as far from done as it is and only one weekend left to work on it. In reality I'm much closer to finished than I think and will likely wrap it up quickly with Jake's help. I did a crosstrain/strength workout before dinner and then we enjoyed some homemade tacos. Overall it was a really good weekend. On a side note I put out the 4 remaining cupcakes this morning for my coworkers and within 30 minutes they had been totally hoovered up. Requests (that won't be fulfilled) for more have been jokingly made. If only they knew about the stash of cakes in my freezer and frostings in my fridge right now. My coworker took photos of the spread on Friday, I hope to share some of those this week.
