Friday night dinner

Jake and I headed down to Pentagon Row to visit Murali for dinner on Friday evening. We've lived in the area for over a year and a half and hadn't checked it out yet. It's not the highest reviewed restaurant on the web but we enjoyed it just the same. We shared the caprese salad which is one of my all time favorites. Something about the mozzarella and tomato is just so refreshing. For dinner I had ricotta gnocchi (my new obsession) in meat sauce. The dumplings were firmer than Jake normally likes but I enjoyed it immensely, including the second half of it that I ate for dinner the next night. We also shared a bottle of Prosecco, which I suspect we will do a lot between now and our trip to Venice in November. Nothing beats the Prosecco in Venice and hopefully on this trip I won't be under the weather and unable to enjoy it. I definitely think we'll be coming back to Murali again soon to try more of what's offered on their wide-ranging menu. I'm glad we finally gave this place a try and it got me very excited for our next vacation. (Photo from OpenTable.com)
