An Introduction

This is the story of a young couple, their dog and their adventures through adulthood in the Washington DC metropolitan area. I am Karen, the cartographer, adventurer and romantic. I work for the fed here in our nation's capital and I enjoy running and baking on the side. Jake plays the role of consultant during the day and enjoys being a soccer, flag football and kickball star in his spare time. We both enjoy going out and will be filling you in on all the fun places and events we partake in along the way. And I would be remiss if I didn't also introduce little Dublin, the four-legged love of our lives. She keeps us on our toes as you will see.

The two of us met playing kickball, fell in love and were married last summer. We've been carefully navigating marriage and home-ownership for the past year and pet-parenthood for the past 7 months.
